- Prof Sudipto Mukhopadhyay, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Netaji Subhas Centenary College, Lalbagh, Murshidabad conducted a two-day Theatre workshop titled “Eye/I: The Ways of Seeing” on 27th and 28th January 2020 for students of the department and interested faculty members.
2020-21
- Prof Amrit Sen, Professor, Department of English, Visva-Bharati University, Bolpur delivered a special lecture on “The State of Nature and the Nature of the State: Reading Hobbes’ Leviathan” on 19th July 2020 for the students of the department in Google Meet platform.
- Dr. Tania Chakravertty, Dean of Students’ Welfare, Diamond Harbour Women’s University, delivered a special lecture on “Tennessee Williams and His Vision of Time in The Glass Menagerie” on 20th July 2020 for the students of the department on Google Meet platform
- A state-level one day Webinar on Rabindranath Tagore was held on 27th August 2020. The speakers were:
- 1. Dr Arpa Ghosh, Associate Professor, Department of English, Vivekananda College for Women who spoke on “Tagore Household and Ghare- Baire”
- 2. Dr Chitrita Banerjee, Associate Professor, Department of Bengali, Shri Shikshayatan College who spoke on “Rabindranath er Gora: Kichu Bhabna Chinta”
- Prof Angshuman Mukhopadhyay, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Prafulla Chandra College (South City Evening) delivered a special lecture on “Of Rage and Violence: Reading: Reading Osborne’s Look Back in Anger” dated 28th August 2020 on Google Meet platform for the students of the Department.

- Jennifer Shaheen Hussain, Assistant Professor, Brainware University delivered a special lecture on “Coming Out: Unmasking the Sexual Subaltern Through Film Adaptations” dated 25th April 2022 for the students of the department.
- Dr. Pinaki De, Associate Professor and Graphic Illustrator, Raja Peary Mohan College, Uttarpara delivered a special lecture on “The Other Ray: The Aesthetics of His Book Design” dated 27th April 2022 for the students of the department.
