TWO DAY THEATRE WORKSHOP
Prof Sudipto Mukhopadhyay, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Netaji Subhas Centenary College, Lalbagh, Murshidabad conducted a two-day Theatre workshop titled “Eye/I: The Ways of Seeing” on 27th and 28th January 2020 for students of the department and interested faculty members.

A state-level one day Webinar on Rabindranath Tagore was held on 27th August 2020. The speakers were:
NATIONAL SEMINAR ON "LITERARY THEORY AND THE LINGUISTIC TURN"
Katwa College has signed a MOU with Purbasthali College and one of the collaborative activities observed was a National one Day Seminar organised jointly with the venue of the event being Purbasthali College. The event was organised by the Department of English of Purbasthali College under the aegis of IQAC.
• Prof Indrani Ray, Department of English, Katwa College delivered the welcome address and chaired a technical session. The topic was “Literary Theory and the Linguistic Turn”.
The Speakers were:
• Mr. Atanu Kr. Paul, Assistant Professor, Department of English, JMS College, Munger (Affiliated to Munger University), Bihar, who spoke on Literary theory Leaning on language: Reading the beginning moves
• Mrs. Abhinanda Chakraborty, Department of English, Chandidas Mahavidyalaya, West Bengal spoke on “In pursuit of the picturesque": A deconstructive reading of the Indian hill-stations and the imperial project.
Students of the Department of both the colleges partcipated and interacted in the sessions.
