A State Level Inter College Literary Meet was Organised by Bricoleurs, Literary Society, Netaji Subhas Centenary College, Lalbagh, Murshidabad and the following students participated and won in the events mentioned:

• Debarati Sinha and Sumedha Ghosh (5^th Semester) – 1^st Position in Debate
• Anindita Mukherjee (5^TH Semester) - 2^nd Position in Dramatic Monologue Acting
• Sandip Dey (5^th Semester) - Special Mention Prize in Dialogue Writing
• Jit Das (5^th Semester) and Samama Tarannum Chowdhury (3^rd Semester) received participation certificates.

An essay writing competition on the commemorative observance of International Women’s Day was observed and the following students participated and secured the following position:

• Anindita Mukherjee (5^th Semester) – 1^st position (topic: Gender and Division Labour)
• Debarati Sinha (5^th Semester) –        2^nd position (topic: Gender and Division of Labour)

A one-day exhibition and competition of Models made by all the departments was held on the occasion of Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the College. The Department of English displayed three models made by the three running semesters of the department and all the three models were awarded the following positions:

• Model on patriarchy and position of women in Victorian Society and the relevant relation to the contemporary times based on Tennyson’s poem “The Lady of Shallot” made by the 4^th Semester students received the First Position in the Humanities Section

• Model on the dramatic representation of sin repentance and the tragic tension of Macbeth in William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth made by students of the 2^nd Semester received the Second position.

• Model on the workings of Ideology in the matrix of the subject with relation to society made by students of the 6^th Semester received the Second position.
